Indonesian Transport ministry spokesman J.A. Barata confirmed to AFP that while they don't know the cause of the crash the weather in the area was “very bad.”
The plane is 28 years old and is registered PK-YRN and was under the command of Captain Hasanuddin.

It operates flights to 16 destinations in Indonesia usinf a fleet of 10 ATR turbo prop planes and six Boeing 737s.
Flying within Indonesia is considered the most dangerous in the world with the International Civil Aviation Organisation, aviation’s governing body. finding in an audit that the country is below world standard in all eight audit criteria.
In some cases Indonesia is only 20 per cent compliant with world standards.
